Update from Jacob Rempel:

I trust and pray all is well with you. God is good and faithful even in the midst of a pandemic.

I have communicated with Cubans more in the last two years than in the previous five years combined.

3 times in the last 6 months travel plans were cancelled or postponed.

One of the best ways to expose a flaw in a vessel, whether physical, mental, or spiritual, is to apply pressure to the vessel.

God has tested my patience and found me lacking I am sure. What a great opportunity to grow in oneself and more importantly in Christ.

At long last, Doors, Churches, and the work in Cuba are opening up for me.

I will be leaving for Cuba in approximately one week. I will be staying there for nearly 3 months. Well into the new Year.

Shelly and the kids will join me for a week in January 2022.

I hope to send out a formal newsletter before I depart.

I have a few requests that I hope to fulfill either before I depart or soon after.

I have had requests for smart phones and laptops. Cuba has changed a lot during the last two years and Cell Phones have become critical tools for pastors.

If any of you happen to have a (Not too Old) cell phone laying in a drawer that you could part with, I would love to bring them down with me.
Cell phones need to be unlocked and in good working condition. Brand is irrelevant.

Laptops are also in high demand. Pastors are often travelling house to house to perform multiple services throughout the week.

Some churches have been running makeshift home schools as government schools have been closed due to Covid.

If you have a laptop that you no longer need, I will gladly transport it to Cuba and ensure it receives a retirement life worth living.

Laptops will need to be in good working order and not too old.

Prayer

Wow 1 week and I got a LOT of preparing to do.

Pray for prep work to come together smoothly and quickly.

Pray for continued health. I have been trying to be extra careful not to catch a cold or cough or anything else.

I don’t want to have a coughing spree right before entering a plane.

And worse, I sure don’t want to transmit any bug to Cuba.

Also, Pray for Shelly as She will be on her own dealing with the onset of winter.

If you have any items that you would like to send to Cuba, you can get them to me in the next week, or after that,

send them out to Shelly and she will bring them out to me in Cuba in the new year.

Items in highest need

Hygiene items

Deodorant, toothpaste, floss

Underwear

Medicines

Vitamins

Paper Laundry Soap

Cell Phones

Laptops

FOOD, dry goods are allowed to enter Cuba. If its lightweight and takes up little room.

Food needs to have minimal additional ingredients required. Dry Mixes that only require water are best.
